AR panel accepting comments on voter ID rules
LITTLE ROCK, AR (AP) - An Arkansas panel is moving toward adopting rules to enforce a new state law that will require voters to show photo identification at the polls before they can cast a ballot.
The state Board of Election Commissioners on Wednesday voted to begin accepting public comment for the rules.
The panel plans to give final approval to the rules in August.
Poll workers are currently required to ask for identification, but voters can cast a ballot if they don't show ID.
