More than 60 kids grabbed their fishing gear and participated in Saturday’s fishing derby at Davidsonville Historic State Park in Pocahontas.

The winners were:

Registration underway for email marketing workshop

Arkansas State’s Small Business and Technology Development Center (SBTDC) and Jonesboro Regional Chamber of Commerce will present a professional e-mail marketing workshop at the ASU Delta Center for Economic Development, Thursday, June 13, from 1-4 p.m. and again from 6-9 p.m.

“E-mail Marketing Made Easy” will be conducted by Herb Lawrence, director of the ASU SBTDC.

WALNUT RIDGE, AR (KAIT) - Police are investigating the vandalism
crimes at a Walnut Ridge Park.

Damage to the Stewart Park women's bathroom has been reported
on three separate occasions. 

Walnut Ridge Police are asking park goers to be watchful and
report any suspicious activity to the Walnut Ridge Police Department at 886-3586.

Angels needed for children's hospital fundraiser

Angels needed for children's hospital fundraiser

The inaugural Angels for Angels fundraiser benefitting Arkansas Children’s Hospital and its medical transport helicopter, Angel One, will be held from 4 until 8 p.m. Saturday, June 8, at Reynolds Park in Paragould.

The event will feature live entertainment, a silent auction, and bake sale.  There will also be a children’s area offering games and train rides.

Admission is free.

All of the proceeds from the event will be donated to Arkansas Children’s Hospital for the cost of operating Angel One.

Sen. Boozman will host a telephone town hall meeting, starting at 7 p.m.

Arkansans will have the opportunity to ask the senator questions or just listen into the conversation.

St. Bernards breaks ground on new Alzheimer's care facility

St. Bernards Healthcare hosted a formal groundbreaking ceremony Tuesday for St. Bernards Villa, its new assisted living and secure memory care facility.

The $14.5 million development will be made up of single-level buildings with home-like accommodations, according to a news release.

Two buildings will be for level II residents who require a higher level of assisted living but do not require nursing home care.

A third building will be specially designed for those living with Alzheimer’s disease and other forms of dementia.
