Title (Max 100 Charaters)
A fundraiser for a new tourist attraction in Lawrence County is sure to get your motors running.
For $100 you can buy a chance on a 2005 Harley-Davidson Electra Glide classic motorcycle. Only 200 raffle tickets will be sold.
Charles Snapp of the Lawrence County Chamber of Commerce Tourism Committee says, "the odds of winning this 2005 Black Cherry Harley are good with a maximum of 200 tickets being sold, not to mention it gives you a chance to help a community help itself by preserving our musical heritage.”
Proceeds will be used to fund the proposed Guitar Walk in downtown Walnut Ridge. The walk will be 100 feet long and 40 feet wide along Front Street. It will be shaped like an electric guitar and feature metal sculptures of rockabilly musicians like Elvis Presley and Johnny Cash. Both singers performed in the area during the 1950s.
If the needed funds are raised, construction on the Guitar Walk will begin in the spring of 2012.
The drawing will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, January 21, at the Beatles Park in downtown Walnut Ridge. You do not have to be present to win.
To purchase a ticket and for more information, contact Charles Snapp at (501) 412-6497 or snapp1@sbcglobal.net.
This raffle is being made possible by the Cavenaugh Auto Group, Downtown Walnut Ridge Inc., and the Tourism Committee.
