The Williams Baptist College (WBC) theatre program is getting ready for its spring production, the musical "You're a Good Man Charlie Brown."

The play will take place at 7:30 p.m. Thursday and Friday, April 19 and 20, in WBC's Old Chapel.

The musical is based on the Peanuts comic strip by Charles Schulz with music and lyrics by Clark Gesner.

"You're a Good Man Charlie Brown" made its Off-Broadway debut in 1967 and has become an amateur theater favorite due to its small cast and simple staging. It brings the comic strips to life so that the audience is seeing the comic strip rather than reading it.

WBC's production will highlight this year's seniors.

In addition to the actors' performances, Director Melinda Williams expressed her excitement about the chorus that was made possible this year as a result of numerous auditions.

The cast includes:

  • Charlie Brown--Will Ward of Clinton
  • Linus--Cody Robinson of Marion
  • Schroeder--Daniel Ring of Cabot
  • Lucy--Casey Turner of Tuckerman
  • Patty--Katie Williams of Imboden
  • Snoopy--Anna Hayden of Conway.

The chorus includes Anna Bell of Harrison, Andrea Easter of Beebe, Elizabeth Harmon of Jonesboro, Anna Kane of Harrison, Brandt McDonald of Drasco and Emily Smith of Alpena.

Others involved in the production include Marlena Beeman of Corning on the piano, Samantha Linderman of Mammoth Spring as the musical director and Marcus Massey of Bernie, MO, as the technical director.

Cost is $5 for general admission and $1 for students and seniors.
