LAWRENCE COUNTY, AR (KAIT) – During the DEA's National Prescription Drug Take Back event, the Lawrence County Sheriff's Office held take back sites at three different locations.

Among the three take back sites and the sheriff department's permanent dropbox, police say they were able to collect 179.8 pounds of old and unwanted medicines.

The three take back sites were located at the Sheriff's Office in Walnut Ridge, the substation at Imboden, and at the Strawberry Community Center. The permanent dropbox can be used anytime at the Sheriff's Office.

The prescriptions were turned over to the Dea for proper disposal.
