4 suspects accused of raping two girls | Crime
Four Lawrence County men are in jail, accused of raping two young girls.
Joseph Stewart, 23; Patrick Moody, 25; Todd Jayce Matthews, 23; and Joshua Vidal, 21, all of Walnut Ridge are charged with rape and contributing to the delinquency of a minor.
Deputies arrested the men after two juvenile females told investigators the men gave them alcohol then raped them while they were under the influence, according to an email from Sheriff Jody Dotson.
Officers from the Lawrence County Sheriff’s Office and Walnut Ridge Police Department gathered evidence, spoke with witnesses and interviewed the suspects. After gather enough evidence, Dotson said the four men were arrested without incident and taken to the Lawrence County Jail.
Matthews, Moody and Stewart’s bonds were set at $100,000 each. Vidal is being held in lieu of $50,000 bond. All four are scheduled to appear in Circuit Court on May 15.
Sheriff Dotson said Matthews, Moody and Stewart all have prior criminal histories.
