Powhatan man charged with sexually assaulting girl | Crime
A tip to the Arkansas State Police Crimes Against Children hotline led to the arrest of a Powhatan man on sexual assault charges.
Lawrence County sheriff’s deputies arrested Scott Archer, 26, on Friday, April 26.
According to an email from Sheriff Jody Dotson, the ASP hotline received a tip that Archer was involved in a sexual relationship with a minor female.
Dotson said investigators contacted Archer who came to the sheriff’s office and was read his Miranda rights. During questioning, Dotson said Archer admitted the claim was true.
Deputies then arrested Archer and took him to the Lawrence County Jail to await a bond hearing.
On Monday, Archer's bond was set at $10,000 with conditions of an ankle monitor or $20,000 without a monitor, according to the sheriff.
Archer was also ordered to appear in Circuit Court on Wednesday, May 15.
