Chase ends with Boozer brothers behind bars | Crime
Two brothers from Sedgwick were arrested Sunday after leading police on a chase through Lawrence County.
According to an email from Sheriff Jody Dotson, sheriff’s deputies along with the Alicia Police Department and Arkansas State Police officers arrested Christopher Boozer, 37, and Brian Boozer, 34.
Christopher is charged with fleeing, reckless driving and theft of property. Brian was charged with theft of property and public intoxication.
The arrests came after an Alicia police officer attempted a traffic stop on their 1999 Chevy pickup truck.
Instead of pulling over, Dotson reported the truck sped off.
ASP officers joined in the pursuit, which led officers from Alicia to Sedgwick then out into the county.
The chase ended when the truck drove into a ditch at the intersection of State Highways 91 and 230.
While investigating, officers learned the truck had been stolen from a construction company working on the new four-lane highway, according to Dotson.
Both men were taken to the Lawrence County Jail to await a bond hearing.
Police officers from Bono and Egypt also assisted in capturing the two brothers.
