Powhatan woman arrested on meth charges | Crime
Lawrence County Sheriff Jody Dotson says a woman stopped for a traffic violation didn’t have any proof of insurance. But, he says she did have a pipe and a baggie of meth.
On Thursday, May 16, Amanda Ball, 27, of Powhatan was arrested on charges of possession of a controlled substance, possession of drug paraphernalia, no proof of insurance, fictitious tags and defective equipment.
Her arrest came after a deputy stopped her car near Hoxie.
When the deputy asked Ball for her driver’s license and insurance, Dotson said Ball informed the deputy she did not have insurance on the vehicle.
The deputy then asked if she had any illegal items in the car.
Ball told the officer he could look, Dotson stated in an email.
Inside the car, Dotson said the deputy found a case containing a syringe, a glass smoking pipe and a plastic baggie containing meth.
Ball is being held at the Lawrence County Jail awaiting a bond hearing.
