Motorcyclist leads police on chase through several counties | Crime
A Memphis man faces multiple charges after police say he led them on a multi-county, high-speed chase.
According to Det. Eric Cheatham of the Hoxie Police Department, the chase started Sunday morning on Highway 63 South when Sgt. Joseph Blackwood spotted a motorcycle parked on the side of the road.
When Blackwood went to check on the vehicle, the driver took off at a high rate of speed.
While chasing the motorcycle, the sergeant reportedly learned that it had been stolen in Memphis and that the driver, 30-year-old Mark Lambert, was a wanted felon.
Several other law enforcement agencies joined Sgt. Blackwood as he chased the motorcycle from Hoxie to Marked Tree where Lambert was finally stopped.
Lambert was arrested and charged with fleeing, aggravated assault, possession of a controlled substance, driving with no motorcycle endorsement, reckless driving and no proof of insurance.
