On Friday, Lawrence County sheriff’s deputies arrested 23-year-old Keith Collins.

He said Collins “quickly became a person of interest after deputies spoke to local businesses where the checks had been written.”

Deputies took Collins into custody and “Mirandized him before questioning,” said Sheriff Dotson.

He said Collins admitted he took the checks and forged them.
