Sheriff: Teen confesses to breaking into home | Crime

A Lawrence County man is behind bars after investigators say he confessed to burglarizing a home right after Christmas.

According to Sheriff Jody Dotson, 18-year-old Trevor Wixson of Lynn is charged with residential burglary, theft of property and criminal trespassing.

Wixson is accused of breaking into a Strawberry home on December 28 and stealing a number of electronics and jewelry. 

In a news release, Sheriff Dotson said Wixson confessed to investigators he climbed into a window and stole the property.

Wixson is also expected to be charged in the theft of an ATV from the Smithville area.

He’s currently being held in the Lawrence County Detention Center in lieu of $20,000 bond awaiting a February 7 appearance in Circuit Court.
