Sheriff: Suspect caught on camera using stolen debit card | Crime

Lawrence County Sheriff Jody Dotson says a man charged with stealing a debit card was caught on camera using it to withdraw cash from an ATM.

William Clay Lester, 21, of Black Rock was arrested Thursday on charges of theft of property.

Lester is accused of stealing a Black Rock resident’s debit card and withdrawing $2,500 from their account.

According to the sheriff, a check of the bank records revealed the transactions occurred at a local ATM.  When investigators viewed the machine’s security video they reportedly recognized Lester using the card.

Lester is currently being held in the Lawrence County Jail awaiting a bond hearing.
