Tea Party tour to stop in Jonesboro | Events
Americans for Prosperity (AFP), a Tea Party-affiliated organization, is bringing its "Cut Spending Now Tour" to Jonesboro.
Several speakers and displays are expected at the Chick-Fil-A, 1800 Stadium Boulevard, when the tour makes a stop Saturday at 3 p.m.
The tour, which started in Washington State on October 4, is making its way across the country. It will culminate November 5 at the national "Defending the American Dream Summit" in Washington, D.C.
AFP describes itself as the "premier grassroots mobilizing group" with 1.8 million members.
It wants Congress to cut spending and approve budget reforms that it says will reduce the size of government.
