ATOD offering free life skills classes for parents

Improve communication with your kids and help keep them off drugs and alcohol.

That's the focus of a series of free classes being offered by the Alcohol, Tobacco and Other Drugs Coalition of Lawrence County (ATOD).

The classes will be held at the First United Methodist Church, 214 SW 2nd St. in Walnut Ridge, beginning Monday, May 7, from 6 until 8 p.m.

The series of eight classes are designed to help parents strengthen communication with their children and prevent them from using drugs, including alcohol.

The classes will be presented by Cloyis Daughhetee, who has her Masters in Sociology and is an instructor at Arkansas State University.
