AR Teacher of the Year gives "pep talk" to future educators

Future teachers got some much needed advice from the 2013 Arkansas Teacher of the Year on Friday.

Alexia Bourisaw Weimer spoke to education majors during the orientation session in the Convocation Center at Arkansas State University.

Weimer used this as an opportunity to help more than 160 interns be ready for what takes place in a classroom.

She says before an instructor can effective teach content, they need to establish a close relationship with students.

While methods vary at each grade level, connections with students are always important.
